yeah the lighting took really long. This particular scene does not use an HDRI, there are meshplanes in the background with alpha channel (clouds, fog etc) which hide the towers. A lot is later added in compositing as well.

Mostly modeling it and later on kitbashing in some more scans like pebbles etc. I do some node editing to mix a bunch of textures to make the scene look less flat.
