P.S. I linked to @rklaehn.bsky.social's twitter post above, but here's his bsky post: bsky.app/profile/rkla...
I recently got nerdsniped by @zooko2.bsky.social
into implementing fast BLAKE3 hashing of multiple small blobs.

I wrote a blog post about my experiment.

It would be cool to polish this a bit and turn it into a public API.

I would take being forced to code in brainfuck over having to maintain e2e tests that involve oauth. This is a special circle of hell

I'll be in Bucharest next week, talking about @iroh.computer and BLAKE3.

There will also be a rust workshop.

Dude just search up the git reflog. There’s no such thing as mistakes in git, only a question of how much stack overflow / ChadGPT time.
well now I really want to read it
How many times did you use the phrase “state transition”?
If you want to work hard & feel pride, start a business.

If you want to work hard & feel love, start a family.

These are not exclusive, but often confused.

Finally sharing what I’ve been building for almost a year now! 🐢✨

Atuin Desktop: runbooks that run

It’s open source and in open beta now 🥰

Built for engineers who need repeatable, reliable workflows. No more copy-pasting from slack or outdated docs
“When we asked participants in our study how it feels to receive workslop, 53% report being annoyed, 38% confused, and 22% offended.”

Yikes.
I’ve experienced this first hand a bunch myself, where someone clearly piped AI output direct to me without sufficient review. I reflexively turn to those folks less now.

This isn’t a pessimistic view of LLMs, use them! Just read & review before sending.
This strikes me as the crux of how the knowledge economy now looks way more like the service economy: we need to remain a high source of signal in the eyes of our peers by gating out the slop.

From now on when someone asks me for post-quantum secure encryption I’m going to ask them if they’re willing to care for slime mold:

Big win. Now you can leave Bluesky AND return to their servers if you wanted to.

Folks who migrated to blacksky.app, myatproto.social, and cryptoanarchy.network were taking a leap of faith move over to servers hosted by Blacksky Algorithms.

Hopefully this de-risks things for folks.
decentralization is a network topology, not a framework for making people's lives better :)
"The iroh-lan UI is designed for zero-friction, ephemeral networking: no accounts, no central servers, no device lists. Name a network, choose a password, and you’re on a private L3 LAN with anyone who does the same, created out of thin air and gone when you leave."

yup.
