Finished off No Kings Day in our hometown, Asheville, NC, marching with thousands of neighbors and friends who love this country and are standing up and speaking out for our democracy.

Oh, and I was quoted on CNN. THIS is what democracy looks like!

Thanks so much for all you do, Ezra and Leah.

My wife and I attended two protests today. Started the day in ruby-red, small-town Hendersonville, NC, and bookended the day with a MASSIVE crowd in Asheville, NC.

Terrific energy, creative signs, joy-filled protesters, and the power of unity.
Midd Class of ‘82 (and my wife) representing today in NC!
Frogs in ruby-red Hendersonville, NC. Oh, my! Call out the National Guard! The horror!
Same here in ruby-red Hendersonville, North Carolina. Massive crowd, great energy, inventive signs.
Ruby-red Hendersonville, NC this morning. Huge turnout, great energy.
Here was a similar sign at No Kings protest in ruby-red Hendersonville, NC this morning, replete with “Aunt Tifa” (who gave permission to photograph).
Massive turnout this morning in ruby-red Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Peaceful, joy-filled, powerful, and impactful. ORDINARY American citizens standing up for decency, democracy, and the power of the people.

P.S. Some excellent signs, too!

Massive turnout this morning in ruby-red Hendersonville, North Carolina for No Kings Day.

Peaceful, impactful, joy-filled, gathering of regular folks who love America and care enough to come out to protest on behalf of democracy.

Big turnout in ruby-red Hendersonville, NC!
When the WH twists the arms of media NOT to interview an author with a new book out, it shows they fear the message. No wonder. I 1st met @rweingarten.bsky.social in 1987, when I was press secretary to the NYS Senate Dems. She was a force then. She still is. BUY the book, folks. The truth matters.
More from beautiful Asheville, NC day to stand up for democracy, the workers who make America great, humanity & compassion. In other words, it was the perfect day to celebrate everything that makes us proud to be WE, the PEOPLE of this country.

I’m super excited to be on this panel. Currently practicing my “evil villain” laugh.

Looking forward to appearing with these awesome author friends and colleagues. World Pride. This Saturday and Sunday. Washington, D.C. It’s THE place to be! Come say hi and buy books.
So very sorry for your loss, Marc. Letting them go is the hardest, most loving thing we can do. And it royally sucks.
