[She obviously doesn't hear him, but... sees his mouth move. A little confused, she finishes her food.]

'...Did you say something? I can't hear very well.'

[She'd type, before shooting a text to Gordon.]

'He'll be here as fast as his bike'll take him.'

'I'll have him fix them after we're done eating.'

[There's a pause, as she thinks of a way to word it. Simplest way to explain it would be the best.]

'Yeah. I have a brother. He's my twin.'

[She'd type with one hand, shoveling a forkful of pancake into her mouth.]

'Okay, so they were stopping me from coming in and also being really rude so I-- hit them with my bat. My brother can fix them, if you're worried about that.'

[The Au pairs slowly float to the sink, and begin doing dishes.]

[Nobody's really... said that to her before. She digs into her plate quietly, adjusting her headband. They sit in silence, and the au pairs who she dunked sorta shakily float into the room. Stare off between them and this girl.]

[Gretchen beat them with her bat, they're a lil dinged up.]

[She's cooking up a storm. She wasn't lying, she can flip a pancake, at least. The smell is intoxicating. Pure, unabashed pancake smell. She brings him a plate, dropping some onto it, before doing the same for herself.]

'Will clean up later. Sorry about that. My dad's hella wasted today. Can't ++

[Holds up one finger, gathering up the ingredients. Pancakes round 2. She puts them down for a second to go to the top of the fridge, where she has a feeling his dad would keep chocolate and other thing Dev can't have. Once she has it, she's off cookin', ignoring his ass.]

'. . . Maybe I am, or you're hiding something from me.'

[After typing that, she rubs her chin, and decides it doesn't matter.]

'Eh, doesn't really matter.'

[Opening his fridge???]

. . . [Sniff sniff.]

'What's that burnt smell?'

[Not smug, she's just-- observant.]

'Sounds about right. But now I'm a pretty good baker because of that.'

[Is she flexing or is she being honest.]

I don't know if you remember, with your tiny squirrel brain, but we have a summer homework assignment we were paired together for.

[She huffs, dodging them all like the matrix.]
