I am fascinated by miniatures, especially miniature books, and have been experimenting with hand-binding miniature books. This is a documentation of my journey through the process.

This is another casebound book. This time sewn over tapes. The back was rounded using my trusty Jorgensen clamp. The fore edges then sanded, polished and spatter painted.

This was an attempt at making a miniature leather-bound treasure binding. The textblock is hand sewn in Coptic style. As it is a copy of the gospel of Luke in Greek, the title was engraved in Greek. More to follow…

The book nook was the stimulus for making more books. Shout out to Lisa Sones-Peck for the pattern for the book nook; and to Heather Tracy, whose pattern supplied the basis for the shelf on the wall. The book carousel was my own creation
