Guys, what the hell.
Don't follow me.
I'm logging off to start another hat.

For those of you that don't know me well: I am pro- art, pro- human, and an environmentalist which means that I am VERY anti-capitalist and VERY anti- AI.

Also, I have better things to do than to argue with toolbags about it.

[death to ~romantasy~]
I’ve seen a worrying number of readers angry when a book is not exactly what they expected, which is a way to trap yourself permanently.

In the "not a disaster" file, I did an overnight brine on a 22 pound turkey and it was one of the best things I've ever made. Very juicy, good flavor.
Please enjoy the sweet potato casserole I made on Thursday.

Attacks on arts/humanities education + the cynical proliferation of A.I. come from the same awful place--the desire of a few people to earn enough superprofits to kill with impunity (and get a third yacht)

Fuck you, this is why I have boot socks.
I’ve been out shoveling in my Docs, so I guess it’s time to repost this.

I am absolutely not dunking on Kim because it's wildly cool to be liked by Hillary Duff, but no one should be surprised when actors support unionizing.

Hillary Duff is most certainly a SAG-AFTRA member! She's a union woman!

(Also, Starbucks sucks.)
thank you for supporting striking Starbucks workers, Comrade Hilary Duff

If this was a planned dish and not a "what's in the pantry" meal, I'd definitely use more coconut. Otherwise, it was pretty damned good.

I need someone to appreciate the vegan stew made 100% with stuff I scrounged out of my pantry/freezer:
onion, butternut squash, lentils, fire roasted tomatoes, coconut cream, salt, red pepper flakes, garam masala

I once had a surgeon tell me to sleep when I'm tired- naps, going to bed early, sleeping in- because the body cannot heal without adequate rest and it still stands as the most stunning advice I've ever received.

We are told not to "indulge" when we're tired (even by doctors!) and it is SO HARMFUL
Because they are, to a person, freaks.
Why are there never return to nature people but for pre-industrial sleep cycles?

it's been hard to put this feeling into words, but we've spent the past couple of decades being lectured to and patronized by an elite class that spent its free time joshing with jeffrey epstein about his little sex abuse empire while lecturing us about how out of touch we are

BARELY LEGAL MEANS, LIKE, TURNED 18 YESTERDAY
15 IS FIRMLY ILLEGAL
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

This gives weight to my theory that the "Cow Tools" drawing takes place in the Predator universe. The cow (consider her stern visage) is preparing herself for the final confrontation, much like Arnie in the original movie. Once she is ready, she'll summon him with a defiant "Moooooo..."

I had a wildly bad day yesterday, so J took me out to the movies to cheer me up. We saw Predator: Badlands and my dudes, dudettes, and dudexxes, it's fucking GOOD.

You know it's a hot presentation when one section of my outline is labeled "algorithm bullshit."
I SHOULD be preparing for my presentation for tonight's big holiday staff meeting, but meh. It's more fun to run around with new books.

Wasn't planning on logging on today until i got an email from my boss pointing out a mistake on one of the graphics I made, so I guess I'm working today.

And doing laundry. And waiting for the electrician. And making soup. And thinking about making bread.
