Back in '99 the cover of Sirens of Time was 1 of the reasons I didn't take up BF (along with other more practical ones!)
So interesting to hear @audiosirens.bsky.social chat about it the 25th anniversary & hear what I was missing!
I also had no idea Phantasmagoria was a William & Mary story!

The context of what we are talking about was more present day. There is still much more of a radio culture and indeed, audience, in the UK than there ever has here in Australia in my lifetime. Those shows you suggested were from the 30s to the 50s. I would expect some radio shows back then.
