part of the reason why many ppl gravitate towards horror/dystopian media as a source of comfort is bc the hell around your character is so unimaginably awful that it elevates even the smallest moments of kindness or gentleness to mythic levels of hope in the goodness of humanity

If I don't think about a character all the time but then when I do see them I physically react (excitedly), am I allowed to say that character is my favorite? Sometimes I feel weird that I don't hyperfixate. Like it must mean I don't like them as much as I thought, right?
