Tomorrow at 6:00 is the first ever negotiations between NC public school workers and their bosses. We will put forward policies to increase pay for classified staff (teacher assistants, custodians, bus drivers, etc) and to protect our students from ICE. Next week we will be focusing on increasing classified pay (this all started with the classified pay debacle 2 years ago that never got fully resolved) and protecting students from ICE (a broken promise made by the district in the spring)

We start the first ever public negotiations for public school workers in NC exactly a week from today! Our proposals just went public. They are bold (for the south) and have the potential to make a difference for all staff and students as well.

The highlight of my day was when a humongous cockroach sauntered into the PK room and caused absolute chaos. Everyone survived (including the cockroach) and it added some excitement to the day.
