There's another book that includes a mention of my great grandfather as being involved in the Red Feds - we aren't sure if that's true (anyone who would know is long dead) but we know he knew them and was later involved with many in the early days of the Labour Party.
Been looking for a copy of this (long out of print) book for years, finally found one on TradeMe.
A close race in and of itself isn't a reason for a recount - courts have ruled this in the past. You've got to have a reason why a recount could be expected to produce a different result in order to be granted one.
It's frustrating how in the Tina from Turner's ad she sings "Paekākāriki" while standing in front of the giant L&P bottle which is clearly in Paeroa, nowhere near Paekākāriki. It's the only town name she sings where she's not in front of something in that town, I don't understand
They're really, really good. I think the first was the strongest but the second was also excellent. He's such an engaging writer
Omg look what just arrived! Published yesterday, so excited to read it.
Wish I could be there to show my support in person but the weather says no, so sending all my support today to the teachers, nurses, doctors, allied health staff, ACC staff and others on strike today, standing up for themselves and all of us! ✊✊✊
Not a lawyer but I don't think so because he's not the employer, Te Whatu Ora is. Might be different if it was still with the Ministry of Health but the arms length relationship between a Minister and a Crown entity provides sufficient distance I think.
This is an obscenely large box considering the only thing inside is a MicroSD card the size of one of my fingernails (hand for scale)
Got my membership renewed, it's gonna be another fabulous summer at the Basin Reserve watching the mighty Blaze deliver our next championship!
Happy fifth birthday to Lyra, from fluffy potato to the best tiny big girl ❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉
Pure reckons but I'd put down a large chunk of that to increasing turnout in Ōtaki and the rest of the district due to the Māori ward referendum.

You def can't put it down to the anti-rates crowd when the mayor was comfortably returned and most of the anti-rates candidates lost.
Kāpiti Coast District Council has increased our election turnout compared to 2022. Last election we got 45.8%, this time we're already at 45.7% before specials have been added to the count.
A now-dead ex MP used to message me on here nearly every time we passed each other on these travelators when I worked there, sometimes making unwanted 'bear' references. He was an odd one.
I've read my chapter and I know that this book will be a really valuable resource both for people going through this, and for their loved ones supporting them.
When I was 16 my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer - 3 months later she died. It was an awful thing to go through, but one that too many rangatahi in Aotearoa face.

I am so done with this bullshit.

NZ First mingled with a crowd who set fire to the grounds of parliament.

The Greens marched with a hīkoi that did not leave a scrap of litter on those same grounds.
I'm on RNZ this morning talking about the Government's decision to continue enabling genocide. Safe to say I'm pretty furious about it.
