Since I don’t have any drawings of St. Nicholas to celebrate his feast day, here’s a Santa Claus drawing for today’s #ArtAdventCalendar Fun (?) fact: yesterday's Krampus was drawn (18 years after this) as a kind of companion piece to it...
In a color cartoon by Dale Martin, a pulp hero-style Santa is trudging through snow, with a big back of gifts on his back. “Happy Holidays” reads the text, in a style reminiscent of the 1970s Doc Savage paperbacks published by Bantam Books.

And this is the dragon I printed with the FDM printer. The stl is from The Dragon's Den on My Mini Factory. Testing it with the free resin we got from Elegoo when we bought the printer, but I want to buy pretty filament to print it :)

I'm so excited! Hubby got a new 3d printer (FDM...we already have a resin setup), and he's taught me to use it :) My very first print is printing now :D Just in plain grey, but we're in the testing phase.

Introduce yourself with 4 Mechs
Okay, loosely interpreted as mech girls ;)

Day 2 of #ArtAdventCalendar The Tallgeese from Gundam Wing. This is from the "Gundam Artifact" line which unlike most Gunpla kits doesn't have a fixed scale. However this is about the size of a 32mm mini which puts it at about 1/285 scale similar to Battletech.

Day 4 of the #ArtAdventCalendar the MG Barbatos Recirculation colours. I was convinced we wouldn't see Bandai's eccopla line in the US and love this electric blue accent color & having painted it myself I could experiment with a carbon fiber effect to break up the black.

Rice is incredibly boring without salt, soy sauce, or other tasty flavorings. So I bought a mixed pack of furukake...can't wait until it gets here. Until then, kimchi fried rice it is. I will say that since I started cutting salt, my blood pressure is responding nicely :)

Day two of reducing sodium and added sugars, and trying to get back on track eating-wise. I've spent the past couple of months adding more veg to my diet, now it's time to move to the next small step. And monitoring blood pressure. Since that's a major reason I'm doing all of this.

Day 3 of #ArtAdventCalendar and time for some Warhammer. I am particularly pleased with the helmet because it was a last minute swap and it was still primed black instead of white or pink so working up to that yellow was a challenge.

Ginger leans in curiously over a large glass jar, her nose almost touching the rim as she investigates the tiny Christmas world inside. Warm light glows on her fur and on the smooth, reflective surface of the glass, where a miniature tree, little figure and scattered gold stars sit in a layer of “snow.” The soft focus on the background and Ginger’s white paws at the side draw attention to the intimate moment between cat and decoration, making the jar and her inquisitive face the clear star of the scene. The quote is a classic pet owner's holiday sentiment, a humorous acknowledgment of the love for pets versus their often chaotic and destructive behavior around Christmas trees. It playfully refers to the traditional carol "O Come, All Ye Faithful" but swaps "Faithful" for a more pet-centric, and often relatable, phrase.

THE ART AND SCIENCE OF NATURE Begonia ‘Curly Fireflush’ (Begonia Rex hybrid) was developed in the 1940's, almost a century after the original hybrid was created. Unlike other rexes, this one never goes dormant and its flowers are fragrant. This begonia's leaf arrangement, or phyllotaxis, around the stem is an awesome example of the Fibonacci numbers, or Golden Spiral, nature's way of maximizing the space for each leaf and the average amount of light falling on each one. When new leaves grow from a plant, they grow in a spiral around the plant's stem. Nature spaces the leaves in this way so that higher leaves do not shade the lower leaves too much from sunlight. The number of turns in the spiral (from leaf to leaf) and the number of leaves that exist in the pattern in all cases express a Fibonacci fraction and therefore a Fibonacci ratio. The same pattern repeats again and again as the plant grows. The Fibonacci numbers are nature's numbering system. They appear everywhere in nature, from the leaf arrangement in plants, to the pattern of the florets of a flower, the bracts of a pine cone, or the scales of a pineapple.
