It depends on how much they are lying about everything. Deepseek is good. It's open source. But they aren't transparent about the economics. At least from what I have read so far.

Please keep using our stuff. Please don't use Deepseek. We realise it's about as useful as what we make, in the sense it's not really got any unique selling point in comparison and isn't really essential in any way. Also it's more expensive! But ours is better. How? Well, we're not sure. Help me
