The pumpkins we bought to decorate the porch for autumn were gnawed on by something small and probably frustrated. Holiday done, I smashed them—take that, Billy—and set the pieces in the backyard. They were hollowed out to thin shells by morning. Deer, I bet, but I hope squirrels nudged in. 🎃🦌🐿️

Two purchases yesterday. 1) Holiday lights to replace broken strands—hey, it’s for our neighbors to enjoy!—and 2) pre-bookings of guided tours for an upcoming family trip. Kind of a fail for my Black Friday resolution, but could have been worse.
