Kusan's parents are alive. One more than the other. His father Dalaux is rotting in Eorzean prison cell after he did some warmongering deals with Garlemald for his family wealth and had his own daughter killed. After their fight in Heavensward, his family cut ties with him and moved on. (1/2)

A momentary break from my hiatus:
I posted a thorough explanation here, but a TLDR: my mom was the main breadwinner in our house, and now that she is gone, my family needs help to stay afloat while I find a full time job to support us.
