Not sure... It'll be in Spanish anyway, but I'll ask.

Thanks ❤️ I'll let you know how it went 🙂

And I'll wrap up with some more philosophical discussion on what this means for the future of AI-human interaction and what it might tell us about the nature of human intelligence.

All of that in one hour!

Then I'll lay out my vision for enhancing the reasoning capabilities of LLMs within the current paradigm.

Ideas from this blog post:

Towards Reliable, Consistent, and Safe LLM-based Agents
My vision for building LLM agents that, I promise you, is not the usual deal.

Then I'll argue there is a specific type of reasoning (formal reasoning) that is super important but LLMs are fundamentally limited at it.

Arguments in this post:

The Insurmountable Problem of Formal Reasoning in LLMs
Or why LLMs still can't, and probably never will be able to fully reason.

I'll start by showing examples of failure modes in current LLMs with problems that require some considerable level of reasoning.

Then I'll try to define what reasoning is, and the many nuances it can have.

I'm giving a talk next week on the reasoning capabilities of large language models.

It'll be based on a couple articles I published recently in my blog (links at the bottom).

Here's a quick review of my plan.

More like just Monday afternoon 😁 but I'll be fine...

Haha been there, I have a conference next week and I have to give a tutorial and a somewhat theoretical talk on, you know, reasoning and LLMs and that thing, and I haven't prepared anything yet.

Tú aquí!? Voy echando de nuevo...

It's been a while! What's cooking?

Here’s an alternative to pressuring educators to join the “ban” or “embrace” side of an AI divide: Let’s focus on a common need to establish limits and guide students around AI. We are going to have different approaches, but we don’t need a grand narrative of polarization. 1/

One of my students in the discrete math undergrad course asked me for a book on tournaments.

I recommended them to check Ivanhoe first, and then The Hunger Games for a modern take.

I loved numerical analysis when I was an undergrad. So full of gotchas. I especially loved how changing the order in which you execute things, though theoretically equivalent, makes a lot of difference. Right after discrete math this class brought is back to Earth really hard.

My all-time favorite band is Iron Maiden, but the one I think would best fit the tone and theme for the kind of stuff I'm currently writing is Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Really looking forward to this. I'm kinda a strong local atheist myself so I'm very interested in hearing your perspective.

Oh man I won't even peek into it. Not for the next couple of years at least ;)

The more I read and think about it, the more I like the techno-pragmatist framework.

Hey folks, so I wrote another silly little thing:

This one came from a writing prompt, and it burst almost fully formed into my head. I only had to work it out a little bit to make all the pieces fit.

Hope you like it.
