A warm outlook for the Western US, including #SoCal for next week as this @NWSCPC graphic illustrates. Many locations across SoCal will see temps up into the 80's by next Tuesday, with Valleys and Low Deserts even warmer. #CAwx

Naturally they're not on time... So having to rely on tweets by reporters to figure out what's in the details...
The plan, to be announced later Wednesday, would ease pressure on automakers to control pollution from gasoline-powered cars and trucks and significantly reduce fuel economy requirements through the 2031 model year. https://to.pbs.org/3MhfMr4

California shut down its last coal plant last week and nobody even noticed, it made so little little difference.

Meanwhile solar is up 17% and gas is down 17% from 2024. I have a few highlights... www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/ding-dong-...
Ding dong, coal is dead
At least in California.

People used to say, with great confidence, that variable renewables could never safely provide more than 5% of grid power. That estimate has crept up ever since, though the "great confidence" part never wavers.

Anyway, about China ...

My bipartisan IRS MATH Act with Senator Bill Cassidy is now law.

Now, if you mess up your taxes, the IRS has to tell you where you made a mistake and how to fix it.

No more spending a fortune on lawyers or hours to find errors.

That means fewer headaches and more money in your pocket.

Wtf
Today, DOE renamed the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), one of the crown jewels of U.S. science and engineering for renewable energy, the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). We should be reinvesting in our world-leading national labs not renaming them. www.nrel.gov/news/detail/...

Time is running out for Hegseth thankfully
Reporter: Does the administration deny that that second strike happened or did it happen and the administration denies that Hegseth gave the order

Leavitt: The latter is true

Indian state govt: We don't want to build new coal power plants, because they are more expensive than renewables plus batteries.

US federal govt: Take my money and keep those expensive, polluting coal plants running.
The Indian state of Rajasthan produces more solar than any other. It has rejected a 3.2 GW coal power plant, because the bids to build it were more expensive than bundling renewables with batteries.

A sign placed sideways in a car travel lane would be inexcusable. Our database shows they’re common place for bike lanes.

How bike lanes are maintained by a city sets a tone for how they feel about bicyclists.

This phenomenon, where red states use far more electricity per capita than blue states, has been know for 40 y, as shown by Evan Mills and Art Rosenfeld in 1987:
