It’s so good to feel the sun on my face this morning. The autumn sun is perfect, just warm enough to take the edge off the crisp, cool air. Mornings like this have poetry all of their own. I’m really trying to be aware of what’s happening around me and take joy from small things like this. Soulfood.

It feels like we are living through a scene from Dr Strangelove. One so absurd that it got cut from the movie! Alarmism, hyperbole, simplification and reckless accusations… it feels a bit like it all belongs in a political dark comedy, only the consequences are way too serious and real.

I take solace in staying within my bubble of friends, in my tiny corner of the world where there’s some sense of acceptance at least but I know retreating isn’t the answer when globally we are constantly faced with attacks, hate and waves of misinformation.

I’m just home from a walk in the rain, wind on my face, music in my headphones carrying me along in my own little world. It made me think about the privilege in these simple freedoms (to move openly & feel safe) especially knowing how fragile such moments are for many living in the US today. ❤️🩹
