Yes, really.

Paint is not infrastructure.

"Vancouver’s painted lanes were associated with higher cyclist KSI; Calgary’s cycle tracks with fewer KSI."

KSI = Killed or seriously injured

Wow. This is astounding. A market rental building is pivoting to be an Indigenous hotel for people from out of town who medical care in the city.

They have a history of experiencing racism and struggles with getting short term stays. This is in partnership with the First Nations Health Authority.

Quite the discussion in this thread about the term "Pacific Northwest" in reference to Victoria BC.

I'm inclined to agree with the dissenters. PNW is an US term that sometimes bleeds into the discourse here, referring mainly to Oregon and Washington.

Few Canadians would call Victoria in the PNW.
I’m surprised to see a few people bothered by the term “Pacific Northwest“.

I get that it’s not as used here in Canada, and that not everyone in ON/QC will recognize it.

But apparently there are people in BC who reject the term.

Approved on a 7-4 vote on party lines, with ABC in favour and councillors Fry/Bligh/Orr/Maloney opposed.

Property tax freeze, $50 million more for VPD, and cuts to Arts, Culture, Planning and Sustainability departments, among others.

Full story to come.
