The DLCC would not talk about Mayor Elect Mamdani because its role is to recruit, fund, and elect state legislators. That is the reason the texts you screen shot talked about the VA House wins.

My question as well or more accurately how are they also not the future of the D party. Mamdani's win is exciting; however, that 1 win doesn't mean he alone is the future of the D party. I would argue the biggest win last night was Ds absolutely bulldozing Rs in the VA state house.

I would add the demolition of the East Wing was on the ballot as it was a stark visual representation of everything else that man was wrecking. Symbols matter and he handed his opposition one on a platter.

And that is awesome. Still his election strategy is not a magic bullet. What works in NYC won't work as the same way in VA other purple states. We saw what works there tonight so candidates going forward should also look to those examples.

Mayor elect Mamdani ran a perfect campaign for NYC. It wouldn't have been a perfect campaign for statewide in VA, a purple state. For similar situations, candidates should look to the campaign Abigail Spanberger and the VA state D party (which flipped 11 state house seats) ran.

He showed one way for a D to get elected. Others who won big tonight showed others ways for Ds to get elected. IMO, the VA D state party has the most to teach seeing as how it flipped 12 state house seats & counting. That is a wholesale slaughter of Rs that should be the top news story tomorrow.

They should and they likewise the party should embrace candidates Abigail Spanberger & Mikie Sherrill (both of whom won by larger margins) as part of the future as well. Just like neither of them would have probably won NYC, Zohran Mamdani wouldn't have won the statewide in NJ or VA.

I question why is the media focusing so heavily on Mamdani given all of the wins tonight. I would argue the biggest story is the absolute slaughter of Rs in the VA House of delegates. Ds flipped 12 seats

And who flipped the VA house from 51D-49R to 63D-37R? I am glad Mamdani won. Still a candidate as left as Mamdani is not the answer for every race in this country. Just across the Hudson and more establishment D cleaned up in the gov race.

And something like this would be easily achievable today - use that tile that is fashioned to look like wood. Instead of stained wood walls use some period appropriate wallpaper and there you have it. I mean there was an argument to update the bathroom but not to a garish brothel look.

The Beeb is mistaken. Camilla has her own country house, Ray Mill House, that she already spends a lot of time in. In fact KCIII bought the place next door to it this year so she could retain her privacy.

The monarchy has no say in who they host for state visits. The government, led by the Prime Minister, tells them to send an invitation for state visits and they are required to do so.

Agreed. I think folks are overthinking this. It is obvious KCIII isn't well and William is going to be king sooner rather than later. KCIII doesn't want to leave a mess like his mother left one for him. Also, no doubt, William also pushed for this to be dealt with

Was going to say the same thing. It took 3 years into Charles reign for this to happen. The rest of that 10+ years is on QEII who coddled that man for far too long.
