i've decided any first-person critique of technology that is resigned to its problems without giving any space towards the very real option to just put your phone down is intellectually bankrupt. addictions are real, social infrastructure is real, but so are choices. no one is coming to save us :-)
i’ve had to work on-site in downtown oakland for the past couple weeks. feeling the rto > feeling the agi. parking lots full by 9 am. line for banh mis 9 people deep at 12:15. a glimmer of “bustle” at the 12th street/broadway intersection.
