Since many more people have come to #Bluesky lately, I though it might be fun to share my publications on here, as well! (And as I'm still ECR, it's a reasonable number). Most are on #StormPetrels, but I do have some cool ones on #Whimbrel as well, and even a co-authorship on #PiedFlycatcher. #bird
And that's a wrap! The last of the European #stormie chicks that we monitored on #Nólsoy #FaroeIslands has fledged. This field season was a huge success, with 55 eggs laid, 47 chicks hatched, and 34 chicks fledged!

We only have 5 days left before the last of our team leaves the #FaroeIslands, but these chicks still have some growing to do!
One of the challenges of working with European #stormpetrels on the #FaroeIslands is that they don't really synchronise anything... These two chicks were weighed 5 minutes apart! @jasonwalczak.bsky.social @trevormaclaurin.bsky.social

Seems like our ScienceBricks to monitor attendance of burrow nesting seabirds should help with at least some of these challenges! @jasonwalczak.bsky.social @robthomasbirds.bsky.social

I'd like to say I made a new friend today but this -very fat- #fulmar chick didn't really love being picked up from the road and released back to the ocean where it belongs... My hands will forever smell. @jasonwalczak.bsky.social @annaznoj.bsky.social
