I was glad he didn’t get involved in the sheep re righting process. 😬
I saw a sheep upside down in a field today, hopped over the fence thinking it looked dead, bloated but with a bit of assistance it got up (not dead) and ran off. Never noticed the big bull until in the middle of the field, he was quite happy just watching. Nice bull.
Well, I looked into it a bit more and it seems one of the sticky up receiver things is for monitoring ‘corona discharge’ from the wires. The rest is measuring the weather situation. The pylons were crackling, I’ve been nuked by electric corona (not virus) discharge
Good on you, well done Banff : )
Thanks for that, they do seem weather station like. I should add I came across more of them, and they’re all under or very close to pylons, either coincidental or of course it could be the work of aliens : )
What are those things? Both have solar panels attached.

For those who have the app, the podcast version of an interview Derek Alexander & l gave at Culloden during recent dig. Includes our interpretation of what we think the team of volunteers and archaeologists found over a week of hard work. Think a shorter version will go out on radio this weekend.

I quite like those marmite rice cakes, they’re like a big ricey twiglett. Nice with a slice of Gouda or Orkney cheddar, tomatoes and a good crack of black pepper
It was like an early spring day today. This was between the hailstones : )
Looking towards The Mungo Hill with Tap O Noth behind.
During the Timex strike, the police were a bit stretched what with us and the strikers. They were friendly enough, and chatted away but I think by then their patience was wearing thin. It was the beginning of the end:
The police had the road trenched up at both entrances to the hill on the last fest, they called it ‘the ring of steel’ so we parked our vehicles in Letham and crept up in the dead of night. Great fun 🤩
Haha, that would have been Robbie the Picts event : ) Up the hill DIY fest was the alternative. You were possibly at the last of his village hall events. Both carried the same sentiment, to mark the original battle, both unfortunately turned into battles with the police.
The yearly free fest on the hill was an alternative to Robbie the Pict’s one in Letham village which fizzled out.
One from the McManus art gallery in Dundee. Bleach and toilet duck bottles called ‘Waldella’ by David Batchelor.
The hollow was the stage with a tarp. Loads of bands played including the Nyah Fearties and Alex Kapranos’s other bands before he formed Franz Ferdinand.
Dunnichen Hill, possible scène of the battle of Nechtansmere. Picts v the Northumbrians, but also the site of many free festivals in the late 80’s and early 90’s. It’s not changed much but access by vehicle is now denied and has been since the last modern day battle

Trying out the van layout so far,the forecast for the west wasn’t great so headed south east and parked by the Tay,lots of geese out there, and close enough to Dundee to visit the art gallery by bus which diverted through Mid Craigie.

I’ve not eaten meat for so long, I don’t remember what it tastes like. Quorn’s just nice for a change in texture, it’s nothing to do with being a substitute. The Chinese are masters at creating meat substitutes, they’ve been doing it for years with gluten. Why is it considered wrong?
