I dragged myself through co-pilot to develop revision notes and exam practice qs for my y10 child- secretly cursing that I’m using AI for an antiquated system of assessment 😡 #EduSkyAU
You’re All over it- though I’d need a crash course in what they mean- I could seriously get it wrong! Acronyms are bad enough 😂 #EduSkyAU
And then we rely on team sports on a weekend to fulfil all the skills acquisition- and involvement of parents that can be very emotive for parent and child #EduSkyAU
The more teachers I’ve worked with the more I’ve seen a need to “explicitly” teach them how to observe. Confidence is major barrier and knowing their pedagogical approach is good and will work. It takes strength to go against the grain and not fill the whole lesson with stuff #EduSkyAU
Ok now someone is having too much fun playing on the emoji board 😂 (secretly jealous you can do that!) #EduSkyAU
Jump in way too quick, we try to protect at every opportunity but then actually close off so many learning experiences in the process. Feeling frustrated and being upset are normal and only by experiencing them can we cope and adapt better #EduSkyAU
Ooh I hope it would lessen teacher burnout and they could also have the luxury of letting it be a time when they can do what they went into education for- being around children and having fun #EduSkyAU
I think it often depends on the individual- play needs a safe environment where children can allow themselves to play. For many students play has not been demonstrated if they have trauma. They’ve sadly learnt in different ways- our role as educators is to then provide that safe space #EduSkyAU
The biggest loss is interaction between students. There is no need to “explicitly” teach behaviours or collaboration etc. if you let children play they work out the social boundaries pretty quickly and develop strong sense of identity and empathy #EduSkyAU
Play normally brings happiness and a rush of endorphins that make you engaged. It also encourages risk because there’s safety in play, so new things can come about #EduSkyAU
Good one for kids to design too. I used Top Trumps template design for way too many science concepts- maybe Spot It could be the next! #EduSkyAU
My brother in law is the CEO of an enormous company in UK and credits his computer game playing at teaching him the best strategy in a board room over any education/ finance course/degree #EduSkyAU
Ooh -I’m still terrible with Apple and Mac 😂 only use it for phone. Also can’t underestimate the magnificent SNES #EduSkyAU
Nothing better than putting on your headphones and dancing like no one’s watching! #EduSkyAU
Oh yep-friend and I obsessed with sending adverts of old school video games that are up for sale! Miss my Sega and Commodore 64 #EduSkyAU
Oh I’d love to say more often or even recently. I try to get Spotit out now and again at the dinner table. I actually feel I’m playing when I work with my kids on assignments- atoms with gummy drops and m&m and building Plato’s cave #EduSkyAU

Well funded, and graduates who are well equipped and valued. Opportunity for self professional learning, supported by the system to adopt new innovative practice. And let’s focus on students feeling safe and enjoy their school experience rather then “get through it” #EduSkyAU
Maybe not rely on teachers to find their skills through some reel on an entrepreneur or inspirational leader. Innovative practices and how to enact them in education should be a core element of teacher training and then given value and time to adopt. #EduSkyAU
This is hard because the rise of the education CEO is causing confusion with the role. Resources, culture, operations leave leaders in hard places. I really think if a creative leader is in a stable environment then magic will happen sadly though “master of all trades” is coming to mind #EduSkyAU
Stop seeing parents and communities as the enemies who are critiquing our work. They’re genuinely invested in the most important things in their life. open dialogue and respectful of what the child means to them and what the expectations are from educators, parents and students themselves #EduSkyAU
“Transition years” actually make them meaningful, from primary- secondary- tertiary. Prepare them for the next rather than expecting them to adapt #EduSkyAu
So much- because I’m tired of “evidence based” “ data informed” terminology to justify the sales pitch of an educational product. Maybe I’m more focused on the critical lens at which ppl should view the validity of the evidence 😂 #EduSkyAU
