... Yes? I'm pretty sure that's the implication. Jake wanted to go with his girlfriend, so Robby gave the passes over.

And instead of having someone cover his shift like normal, he went in. Nobody had to work a double to cover him or pull overtime.

Unfortunately, as you progress through the show, you'll find that the realism leaves the plot each time it lingers on Santos. Behavior that would never, ever fly is allowed for the character. The narrative fully gives her special privileges and it brings down the show a bit.
