Meet the 2025 Jack Hazard Fellows: pictured clockwise from top left: Kristin Collier, Dallas Crow, Will Ejzek, Anjoli Roy, and Molly Olguín. Learn all about them and their projects. See link in bio.
🧿Sent the draft to my best and most steadfast writing teacher and beloved @rajivmohabir.bsky.social ! Holy moly.

🧿Now to start packing, close, scrape off popcorn ceiling and wallpaper, paint, move, and then get into revisions and querying this summer. Saying it here for accountability. Love you all
The MS is 350 pgs. I sent the most sensitive piece to my dad.

Dad: “Read quickly but you captured the essence very well. I’ll reflect & make items you may include, okay? You don’t realize how vital you are to us, priceless!!”

He supports my writing compulsion. That is no small thing. Love you all.
I have been having so many feelings since hearing about this. I stopped bringing Indian food for lunch when I was in elementary because of all the jokes about what my dad's food looked/smelled like. I hope the kids give the dal a try, and I hope some of them even enjoy it.
Sending you all love.
Today 400-500 kids in an Atlanta charter school, K-8th grade, are being offered my thakuma's dal as part of their celebration of food-based poems. They've read my poem, "Last" (linked here). I'm so grateful that they engaged the poem. Free Palestine.

Shout out to the other fellows, Kristin Collier, Dallas Crow, Will Ejzek, and Molly Olguín! @newliteraryproject.bsky.social #JackHazardFellowship2025

I'm so excited :)
🧿Because we always need our revolutionary ancestors.

Holy shit, I haven’t single-minded-written like this in ages.

Love you all. It’s a terrifying time. Sending you love to draw on the pools you are able to. Sending you love from this ancestral pool too.

Also, hi, everybody. New over here 😅
Check out my new #creativenonfiction piece out with @pinchjournal.bsky.social!

It’s about giving birth, “the intimacy of living by another’s blood,” to quote Managing Editor Emily Binkley, chimera and microchimerism and postpartum amenorrhea, and giving and receiving blood. 🙏🏽🩸✨

Eee thank you, Jamie!
