What do you want to think about aging?

What do you wish more people realized about aging?

How is your experience of aging, as related to your racialization and LGBTQIA+ identity (if applicable)?

~ Please enjoy this optical illusion I made! ~

If you were represented by an optical illusion (existing or one of your own invention) what would you be like, and why?

Your experience is valid, regardless of whether you knew what was happening at the time, or ever.

Ultimately, being charismatic is not fulfilling in and of itself.
Charisma is a side benefit of inner work and growth, and congruence.
angwoon.bsky.social
Realize that not everyone will like you, and that's okay.
When you accept that, you regain some power.
Spend time with gender-affirming folks whose presence you enjoy, as much as possible.
Conversely, spend as little time as possible with transphobic people.
angwoon.bsky.social
Ask for support when you could use some. It's a resilient, assertive thing to do, and can help you get what you want, both big and little desires.
Find and/or make time for rest whenever possible: physical rest, spiritual rest, emotional rest.
angwoon.bsky.social
Have something you want that's not related to how you're perceived by others.
Admit when you make a mistake and change actions to address the issue, if applicable.
Do actions that help you grow your confidence. This can be different for each person.
angwoon.bsky.social
When you feel comfortable, you generally feel more confident. Others can often sense that, and it can come off as being charismatic.
Next, have a mission statement for the month, season, year, etc, to help you with what you want.
angwoon.bsky.social
Find comfortable affirming clothes when possible: go to free clothing swaps, thrift stores, ask around, maybe join a buy-nothing group online.
angwoon.bsky.social
Basically, examine your own beliefs and find where you can be more fair to yourself and to others.
Sonder and genuine curiosity: recognize that others are having complex life experiences just like you, and ask them about their interests, beliefs, and reactions.
angwoon.bsky.social
Give compassion for others via actions.
Learn to understand others' perspectives and support marginalized folks.
Challenge your own preconceived notions about yourself and others.
angwoon.bsky.social
Go on a hike or read a book because you want to, not because of others' wants or expectations.
Center and affirm yourself via actions. Refuse to do optional things that would over- work you whenever possible.
