Photographer, writer, environmentalist, geek

I live in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens where I write about cameras and other tech, create YouTube videos, and spend a lot of time out in nature photographing wildlife and the places they live.
Pinned
I had this photo pinned to the top of my Twitter feed for four years because whenever I look at it I remember happier times. Those memories grow more precious to me with every passing day.
My current phone is several years old now, and I gave my old phone to a relative who still uses it today.

The idea of purchasing a new phone every year or two is absurd, particularly now that the rate of innovation has slowed to a crawl.
If a phone still works fine, it’s not “device hoarding” to keep using it. It’s common sense.

I hate that in my area we have many spectacular waterfalls, but most are locked up on private property.

This really shows how badly hobbled our local outdoor recreation and tourism economy is due to a general lack of accessible #PublicLands.

We need more parks!

This article makes a good point about the need for Democrats to win back rural voters, but the problem is that Democrats tend to bungle this goal by misunderstanding what rural areas really need.

As such, I’m rooting for Van Hollen and co’s Fight Club to prevail, as should everyone else in the anti-Trump resistance. It’s our best hope at forming a real opposition party that’ll defeat the pedo-billionaire elite

Further industrial, residential, and commercial development of any kind, outside of existing built space, shouldn't be permitted.

We have occupied a larger footprint with our structures than is sustainable already.

So I urge folks: Don't believe the hype. Don't succumb to the orchestrated, fossil fuel and Big Tech funded assault on the National Environmental Policy Act and other bedrock laws. Gravitate, instead, towards solutions that align human-built infrastructure with ecological & community imperatives.

Pundit supporters of "permitting reform" sweep aside (& do not understand) ecology & community.

In their ignorance, they seek to confine the decision-making space to energy infrastructure.

This invariably leads to doomed conflict btw/energy infrastructure + ecological & community systems.
