I'm both shocked and amazed that there should be such cowardly capitulation to the wicked and cruel edicts of Trump and his lieutenants. No rights granted to minorities, women, POC, seem too petty to be ignored or left intact. Masquerading as Liberty.

Little commented on in the Saudi visit to Trump this week was how each party got what they most wanted in an exchange of technology. Saudi Arabia will get F-35s, while Trump will get bone saws.

It's quite something to reflect that the President of the United State's behaviour - his statements; his social media would not be tolerated at even Parish Council level in the UK (the lowest level of Govt in UK, essentially, villages). He'd be pitched in the gutter and shunned.

I'm no luddite, but the way AI has cavalierly stolen intellectual property to feed the beast is despicable. So, yes, I favour them all having to compensate the authors, songwriters, artists and musicians whose work they've vacuumed up for their own profits.

No, I think the very last thing the UK needs is any input from the MAGA monsters.

Here's what I think might be the Republicans' dilemma. They know Trump has dementia and is not fit to rule. But they fear that if they trigger the 25th Amdt, his base will not accept it was other than a coup. They're stuck, wishing for the grim reaper to intervene.

1m ago I posted this- "Not now, not in my lifetime, but, inevitably, Netanyahu is sowing the seeds of the destruction of Israel." It was a gut feeling rather than a considered position. This interview by Chris Hedges with Israeli historian Ilan Pappe gives flesh to my instincts.

As I predicted - Police announce No Further Action against Led By Donkeys 4. No jury would have ever convicted.

Windsor Castle Trump protest. I think arresting the Led By Donkeys crew using the Malicious Communications Act is a bit of a stretch, but it is an offence "triable either way", so the arrested, if charged, could opt for Jury Trial, where Prosecution won't stand a chance. My guess? - NFA.

There are a couple of sentences in there which are fascinating, possibly inadvertently.

I may write in this case again.

There is a deep sickness in the MAGA cult. These are the very people claiming the UK suppresses free speech.

Crowd control is going to be a massive problem during Trump's visit. By that I mean, keeping Trump well away from anything resembling a crowd.

Martin Luther King Jr. paid the bill for Julia Roberts' birth. Here's the backstory
As fans marked Julia Roberts' birthday last week, they also uncovered a connection between her family and that of the civil rights icon. It all started when her parents opened an acting school.

Congress once again ignored in the Iran strike. USA has abandoned rule of law according to the Constitution. Though Trump may believe he is omnipotent, he will now be helpless against the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Here's a thought for when the Day of Reckoning arrives, as it surely will. The same tax data systems now being used BY ICE to target those with a Hispanic/African/Asian sounding name, will expose those who joined ICE's Payroll and thought they could unobtrusively slip back into their overalls.

Is Israel inadvertently doing Ukraine a huge favour by slowing or even halting Iran's supply of drones to Russia?
June 13, 2025 at 1:41 PM
Sooner or later the UK Govt is going to have to accept that USA's only allies are Russia and North Korea. We urgently need to reassess our reliance on any military equipment or support from that disastrous and dangerous regime.

Wouldn't it be a shame if Trump's showstopper for the nation's celebration of his 14 June birthday - his military parade - proved too heavy for Washington roads and ground to a halt in collapsed tarmac. The disappointment would be felt all around the world.

I welcome every bit of today's Brexit reset. Intrigued though how the e-gates concession will work with the 90 days in 6month rule. Will readers be installed in Dover and the Channel Ports which are major pinch-points?
