When you see a keyword search result like this, you can't help but wonder "What the hell happened there?"

Currently using claude to help flesh out a PRD.

"Here's a high level scope, ask me questions one at a time until you don't have any more".

Currently on #129

This is going to be fun.

1986: I started in engineering. Worked on these bad boys.

1996?: One of the seniors drove round the country recording people saying "Phone home", "Phone the office" *in regional accents* as voice recognition started to appear.

Today: I had a real-time conversation with Vapi.ai

Holy moly.

For those of you with a very customised Claude Code set up - skills, agents, commands etc:

LLMs are tremendously seductive, particularly with Anthropic bringing out skills, plugins, etc.

But sometimes, you just need a simple automation script. Absolutely use the LLM to write it, but it's *SO* much faster to run a script than to tell the LLM to do something that could be automated.

If you're using claude code, and want to be able to do stuff from mobile, take a look at @terragonlabs

Knocked up a quick tool with Claude Code the other day.

My prompt was: "See this screenshot of a site, replicate it, but the search function should be to the API defined at https://...."

That was it, and it worked with 1 minor tweak.

Seriously impressive.

Just been going round the houses a bit trying to resolve a 401 Unauthorised error with Claude Code.

Took a while, but now the 401 has gone.

I get a 404 instead.

Ironic.

I think "Ted" needs to refine his youtube AI commenting bot:

I think a special place in hell should be reserved for the person who thought that making devs type "~/.bashrc" was a good idea.

I'm 55 years old, been using bash on and off for at least 15 years, and it still pains me to have to type it.

Wait a minute. I thought all this "MCP" stuff sounded familiar.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

(One for us old folks, but timely given Tron Ares imminent release).
October 10, 2025 at 10:58 AM
Every MCP you are using in Claude Code adds to the tokens you send on send on every request.

Every method the MCP has, that you're not using, is a massive waste of your allocation.

If you're only using a few MCP functions, get CC to create a CLI tool that does the same thing

Me: Ok, loop through the entries and give me a 1 sentence summary.
Claude Code: Creates a python script to extract the 1st sentence from each item.
Me: No, I want an AI summary
CC: Creates a python script to call OpenAI or Claude API.
Me: ...
CC: Oh wait, I've just realised something:
October 9, 2025 at 11:01 AM
I used Claude Desktop to investigate some app options, and it ended up writing a little bash script for me.

Claude Code spotted an issue with the script.

We're down the rabbit hole, folks.

Useful tip if you are about to do some major layout changes to your UI when a lot of the functionality is working and you're using an AI coding tool:

Get it to create ASCII art, and give it ASCII art for any changes you want to make.

Then get it to code against that.

I don't use slack.
I don't have a microsoft account.
I only have a private gmail account.

So I guess I won't be using your product then.

Today so far, from my own notes:

Woah there horsey! We've not tested the end-to-end process, so there's no way we're ready to scale!

And today marks the 1,001th time I've wondered why something ISN'T BLOODY WORKING! still, only to realise I forgot to restart the laravel queue and it was running old code.

I asked Claude Code what I could add to my "Do this task" prompt to keep Claude Code implementing simple solution. It came up with this. Let's see how it goes.

I recently added a container to my docker stack (running a few 3rd party apps), to alert me when I'm running old versions.

It's possibly my favourite bit of hands-free automation. Simple, painless, does one thing well.

What's your favourite tiny automation that makes you smile?

I still think the best idea I could ever implement for a SAAS business is this one, because basically at the time this came out, my mates and I *were* the IT Crowd.

Still are, if I'm honest.
