As a manager, it's sometimes difficult to make everybody I work with happy, and it's the cases where I can't that spend more time on my mind. Still, hearing from a report that they see me doing well and feel well supported always makes the days a little bit better.

Fun story: A few years ago (like, in 2023 or something), me, my wife, and her sister were all trick-or-treating around my in-law's neighborhood. At one house, the husband was skeptical because we weren't kids, but the wife exclaimed "Our First Teenagers!" excitedly. We were all 30+ at the time.

My parents just closed on selling the house I grew up in. They finished building that house 10 days before I was born, and now I’ll never set foot inside again. Feels surreal.
They got the offer and closed all without me in the state, so I never got to say a proper goodbye.

At a Hawker Center today, I’m pretty sure that one stall’s cash register is just a pile of newspaper the guy is putting the cash under (left of the pot in the photo). If it works, it works.

Update: finished the Australia leg of the trip, and it was a blast. Sydney is definitely a city I’d consider living in if it were closer to the rest of the world, and seeing the Great Barrier Reef was awesome.
