I welcomed the long-sought ceasefire in Gaza and the safe return of prisoners and hostages.

I raised concerns that the 20-point plan is without Palestinian input, and the need for Palestinian self-determination, their consent for any governance or stabilisation arrangements.

Today I spoke on Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).

A constituent contacted me about his daughter, who faces exhausting weekly travel for costly private IV treatment due to the lack of local NHS provision. We need to ensure consistent and accessible care.

Public money should have created well-paid secure employment and a sovereign wealth fund for Teesside.

The loss of that opportunity is a tragedy.

But with our new govt investing in communities we will bring well-paid skilled jobs to Teesside again.

When steelmaking jobs went 10 years ago, the effect on Teesside was devastating.

In 2015 the Tory govt failed to intervene and Redcar was lost.

Contrast that with this Labour govt in 2025 coming to the aid of Scunthorpe.

I am concerned by proposals to extend police powers over the 'cumulative impact' of protests.

We’ve had multiple anti-protest laws in recent years, eroding rights under the guise of public order.

That right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy we must defend.

I welcome the relief expressed across Palestine and Israel this morning that a ceasefire appears possible.

An end to bombing must become a permanent ceasefire and a flood of aid.

For any deal to last, it must recognise Palestinian sovereignty over Gaza and the West Bank.

I very much welcome the clarity of the Justice Secretary.

After the welfare bill, the Timms Review on the PIP process must be genuinely co-produced.

It's outcomes must reflect the needs of those it is meant to support.
