Brit adrift in a sea of misinformation. Horizon scanning for next beacon of truth. Moral compass helps

I'm a Brit so I tread carefully in other countries' politics.

But democracy everywhere is under attack as never before from dark money, tech bros & unelected billionaire vandals

They cynically lie to & cheat those 4 whom they claim 2 speak

Thank you 4 doing what you can to defend your democracy🙏🏻
Elon, if you need more teenagers for DOGE…

Could the last principled person leaving the Pentagon install a breathalyzer test to unlock our missile silos?

Please and thank you.

1/ First Circuit Court of Appeals Chief Judge David Barron is likely to play an outsized role in litigation against Trump’s Executive Orders. The First Circuit has only five active judges, all Democratic appointees (one current vacancy). Challenges are likely to be filed in the First Circuit.
Hugely important - and depressingly resonant - thread George. But particularly replying to this part to ask if there has ever been an example of such "massive political effort" producing a lasting functioning democracy? I can't think of one but hope I'm wrong
Oh America
What have you done?
Do you see it yet?
If not - you will
Soon
And it's not pretty
😱😡😱😡😱
Oh snap!!!!

President Biden called out the impending oligarchy in his farewell address from the Oval Office.

Nailed it!

Mark Zuckerberg says he wants "masculine energy" to replace "feminine energy" in the work place. He could start by shaving off his nan's perm
Brilliant ...
Bold!
But Brilliant 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪
Amen to that Zarah
grotesque to see Labour do Tory work in Tory economic straight-jacket.

& 4 what?
£22bn "black hole" doesn't even stand up & growth forecasts drop off a cliff after next year (OBR)

Meanwhile they maintain Tory fetish against rejoining EU, our biggest and closest trading partner😡
Dohhh 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

So sorry NOT Liz Truss 😱 ...

more haste less speed as my dear departed Mum would say ...

thank you for the witty and gracious response 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I shall adjust my post accordingly
Not just woeful in terms of %age of UK capacity

UK capacity slashed compared to Europe
including closure of Rough under @liztrussmp.bsky.social

UK TOTAL capacity now 4% or less that of Germany France Italy

Not just she wrecked UK economy:
she left it permanently vulnerable to energy insecurity😡
Here's last line of Melanie Phillips' polemic in defence of Netanyahu's genocide

"If you support the Palestinian Arab cause today, you are facilitating deranged and murderous Jew-hatred"

BBC Robbie Gibb: UR on the board of the JC. Do you approve her view? Is it your editorial line at BBC also?
I asked the internet 4 the etymology/meaning of the word 'musk'

It said
1. Comes from Late Greek word 'moshkos' meaning 'testicle'
2. Vulgar slang 4 the smell of unwashed genitalia

So, if it
looks like a ball-sac and
smells like a ball-sac then
by golly
he IS a ball-sac

HNY😊

Is this how it goes?
Did Elon Musk just purchase the United States of America?
It cost $277, 000.
Was this a sort of coup ?
Is this how it goes?
Great planning Miriam 👏🏻

I've been where you are &, day-at-a-time, still going well a while later

Feel free 2 message if ever you need 2. Meanwhile another tip 4 your recovery armoury: ginger beer (not ale) and grapefruit with a twist of lime ... I call it a Priory Sunrise 😂

All strength to you 👍🏻💪
Damn right Mia
this side of the pond too

Musk already corrupted US democracy
Now seeks same in UK & Germany

He has zero legitimacy to do so. What 2 do?

1. ban donations

2. Brazil showed how 2 shut Twitter. How about UK, EU do same?

3. Withdraw roadworthiness licence for Tesla cars

Any more?
Totally agree Edwin

I didn't vote Labour to be held hostage by Red Wall & Blue Shire europhobes

Majority of country would vote to rejoin some combo of SM, CU, EU.

So why alienate them along with pensioners, WASPIs, youth (mobility)?

With friends like Starmer/Reeves Labour
who needs enemies?😡
Labour keep trotting out the excuse that a lack of money forces them to do it when announcing controversial policies.

By far the single biggest factor hurting GDP is Brexit, yet Labour are taking a teaspoons-of-water-on-a-forest-fire approach to it.

No Brexit honesty = absolutely zero credibility.

£1.8 billion a year gain with CPTPP

£100 billion a year loss by being outside the EU Single Market

Anyone celebrating the gain with CPTPP without mentioning the corresponding cost of Brexit, is not putting country ahead of ideology
YES!! Go for it Germany

West needs to stop cowering in front of fascism, autocracy💪😡
I'm good thanks ... future-gazing for a law firm and clients ... never seen such an unstable future so highly valued 😱🤦‍♀️
Good to see you over here Danny. We corresponded occasionally in the "other place" ... I used to work for Nouriel

Hope all is well in these dark and dangerous times

@dannyblanchy.bsky.social
CPTPP may be of strategic value but useless economically

Gravity works for trade
Asia ~10x further away than EU

So $10 market opportunity in Asia is worth ~ same to UK as a $1 opportunity in EU

So why Starmer/Reeves aping populists when many in UK are cold & hungry 4 want of EU economic growth?😡
Happy to do my small bit to help publicise Judge Kaplan's very careful signposting to the truth.

Why-oh-why did ABC News cave?😡
What a surprise ... NOT !!
... where Gilead meets The Turner Diaries😡
