Funny how two words qualify as Collins Dictionary’s ‘word of the year’.
In 2019, ‘climate strike’ claimed gold. And in 2017, it was ‘fake news’.
More recently, the initialisms ‘AI’ and ‘NFTs’ were victorious in 2023 and 2021, respectively.
Perhaps they should rename it to ‘term of the year’.
