England's highly deprived areas are concentrated in the North and West Midlands.

Borne the brunt of state led deindustrialization to appease the City of London.

Govts focused on London & South East done little to repair damage done by austerity, poverty.

3 things Starmer could do instead of camps in old barracks that would actually WORK👇

1. Create safe, regulated routes to apply for asylum in the UK

2. Let asylum seekers WORK & support themselves

3. Fast track status for people from obviously unsafe countries

"Workers rights bill and living wage rise will lead to a jobs bloodbath", says Daily Mail.

Apparently making workers insecure/poor is the way to economic growth

Silence on fat-cattery, food bank queues, 34% of universal credit claimants are in work

Light years away from Cadbury/Quaker capitalism.
Workers rights bill & living wage rise 'will lead to a jobs bloodbath
In its Employment Rights Bill, Labour has also proposed introducing nine-month legal 'probation' periods to address concerns, but the think-tank said this was a 'messy compromise'.

Today the King will unveil a memorial to LGBT+ personal serving in the Armed Forces, as well as celebrating those who served when it was illegal for them to be gay. The Armed Forces have long moved on but, as a Church leader, I regret that too many parts of the Church have not.

Little Holy Island retreat. Hiked for hours in the dunes. Prayed in the ruins. On the outcrops. By the sea.

Watched the sunset. Waited for the stars to open up. Saw the milky way. Saw a comet fall from the sky. Split into two. Burn up over the land. Red and white coals in the darkness.

Our Lord did not become a man and die and rise again so this country could have a “coherent cultural identity” and I am also not at all convinced that God created human beings in all their diversity in order to sort themselves out into homogenous lumps.

Notice how it’s always, “the Bible must inform our laws!” until it comes to the +2,000 verses in the Bible that discuss the generous use of wealth and possessions in a way that prioritizes the needs of the poor, this sick, the stranger, the vulnerable, and the oppressed.

Here’s something nobody ever told you about hospices... 🤫

A lot of people think a hospice is a physical building – and you have to live near it to get support.

That isn’t necessarily true. 🧵

National Trust members: If you haven’t voted: Waste no time and do so now (see links below) as we are nearly out of time.

And ask you family and friends to vote to. Make it easy …send them links.
National Trust Members.

It’s time to vote to keep the Faragists out.

Best not to split the vote.

Use the QUICK VOTE” link both for people and for motions.
Which reminds me, it's that time of year again for National Trust members to vote. The easiest way is to use the 'quick vote' to keep out the traditionalist 'Restore Trust' candidates. secure.cesvotes.com/V3-3-0/nt25/...
