I live in San Diego in an upper middle class neighborhood. There are a lot of multiple generation homes or adult kids living with their parents. I got lucky and bought at near the bottom of the market. I couldn't even afford to rent a house here now.
I think that depends on what you have already. With a set of rings you can do pullups or chins off a tree or rafter. You can lengthen the straps and do inverted rows. You can do reverse flies/pushups/dips and probably a bunch of other stuff strong people can do.
30 pounds on that frame is nuts. I went from 245 to 260 one year. Then 265 to 280 over the summer for football and it felt like I was running through molasses when we did the conditioning test for camp.
