I am on the side of innocent, non-combatants, who have made up the vast majority of casualties in this war.
Compare before and after photos of Gaza City from September 2023 to today. Then do the same for Tel Aviv.
To even call what happened in Gaza a war is an insult to one's intelligence.

The war is not ended. There is a ceasefire. Israel has not withdrawn (or agreed to withdraw) from Palestinian lands.

As you say (many times), Hamas (and others) want to wipe Israel off the map, but Israel has not faced an existential threat for over 50 years.
Genociding your neighbours is not an acceptable response to a terrorist attack in which 1,200 people were killed.

Also, no matter how horrific Hamas' actions on October 7th (and they were horrific), you don't get to conduct yourself the way Israel and the IDF have for the past 24 months and then portray yourself as the main victim.

I am well aware of the lofty origins of the Zionist movement. But extreme Zionists today are bent on the wholesale destruction of Palestine. Some of them are in government in Israel.

Netanyahu said this week that he had not agreed to Palestinian statehood.
The Good Friday Agreement took four years of negotiation.

I also accept Palestine's right to exist.

One quarter of Israel's population is non-Jewish. They are no less Israeli than their Jewish fellow citizens. Being Jewish and being Israeli are different things

This is a peace plan. It runs to 36 pages - 35,000 words.

Trump's ceasefire plan consists of 21 bullet points. It was cobbled together in haste as part of his Nobel Peace Prize campaign and it will not hold. The US under Trump is an untrustworthy partner. Israel has always been so.

Connolly won the first debate fairly handy. I think a lot of people had their first experience of her last Monday. She exudes genuine empathy and always has a firm grasp of her subject.
The other two were marooned at sea far too often and had to fall back on party soundbites.
