To be fair, it was a push rather than a punch. If one of ours got sent off for doing the same, we'd be fuming. VAR would have looked at it and said "it's definitely yellow, but not obviously red," so couldn't intervene.

In most countries in the world, the story would have largely been acknowledged with a shrug of the shoulders and forgotten in a day, or 2. Unfortunately, in Canada, the sports media, who generally neither know anything about nor care a jot about football, decided they wanted a scandal to talk about.

I certainly don't feel like I've lived a diminished life over the past 2 decades because of it. I'm also happy to give money to the local, independent shop, when possible, rather than giving it to Bezos. I hope what you're doing catches on.

I only have an Amazon account because I live in Australia and wanted to buy my nephew, in Canada, a book back in 2008. I have used it once since then, only because I got one of their gift cards from a colleague for my birthday a few years back.
