Hello, BlueSky. My name is Herrington, and I'm an artist-writer who focuses heavily on the theme of "what love means." I'd like to write a book someday; stroll with me while I make the journey, if you like.

Please note: While mostly SFW, my work contains dark themes aplenty. Thanks for visiting.

Thanks for reminding me of this, it gave me whiplash
(They also make him look extremely haunted when he grows up)

...third, connection with others: I seek to understand and hope to be understood, or at least resonate with those who think there's value in it.

If a platform would oust artists whose lives and voices and works I would connect with, then it's not worth it for me.
...second, a feeling of safety, because no matter the chaos of the world or the struggle for survival, these stories are mine. These characters belong to me. What I hold in my mind is sacred and cannot be taken, I am not the mere sum of my experiences but imagination, which is necessary for hope...
I've been contemplating creativity as I begin work on a long-form project with more conviction than I've ever approached a long-form project. For me, the impetus of creation is threefold: first, an assertion that "I exist," that no one but myself can make the things that I make...
To be honest, recent developments have turned me off from using this website as much. I'll still post here for now, but I'll probably start using Tumblr ad Dreamwidth more (besides, I like having the space for longer entries). This is still good for finding and supporting indie works, though.
Redraws of OCs' first pieces (except Greta, I took the first drawing where she started looking like herself instead)
Ah she's so cute... wanna tousle her

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.
Johannes: Would rather not wear a suit jacket, thank you very much — feels awkward in one, like he's compensating for something. Just the waistcoat is best, maybe a jabot for neckwear. Mandarin collars to give his neck some breathing room, also sets him apart from the other men in a room.
Lukas: Gets the suit language wrong on purpose. He's scholarly but NOT, three underlines, an academic, and throws on whatever he decides that morning in a fit of whimsy. Mismatched socks, dotted ties that look normal until you squint and see the dots are fish. Sometimes a fez.
Florian: I mostly base his fashion on Brisseau's suits here (Noce Blanche, 1989). There's authority, yeah, but the softer contours of the fabric and lapels add sensitivity. Ultimately evokes a man of learning.
Greta: Not wearing a suit jacket, but a blazer. Subconsciously goes for a preppy look with historical connotations of wealth, status. Ditches the wardrobe for things she actually likes later, once she has a more developed sense of self.
There was a post I saw on Tumblr yesterday where a user broke down his choice in suits. I found that interesting, so here we go, OCs and suits (or not):
