I'm a READER. Not here to sell you anything. I'll share what I find in books without spoilers. Book review, NOT book report. I'll put the title in front of you, then you can choose. Life is full of possibilities. So are books.

Want to sleep. Instead, I'm thinking about #TrueBlood. The #books. Not TV's vamporn (nothing wrong with vamporn.) Just not now. And #MidnightTexas. I want a story about a quirky little town where the residents are a little 'different.' Are there books I'm not aware of to fill this craving? #booksky
I needed a break from fantasy. It all gets too familiar. We don't need the same story retold. Over & over.
#ACaller'sGame was a twisty little surprise. And a #stand-alone book too. There aren't enough of those! J.D. Barker is good at twisty. I have frequently recommend his #4MK trilogy. #booksky
Book is hurting my logic. FMC has an 11 year old girl. The author has never had, or has forgotten, the dimensions of an 11 year old child. He describes the child as hugging her mother's leg. Toddler? My 11 GD hugs my waist. The FMC gets on her knees to speak eye-to-eye. 11 year old? Sure. #booksky
DNF. This is becoming a trend. I gave #ForTheWolf 100 pages, or so. It seemed like a book I should enjoy. But, if it ever gets engaging it's somewhere I never made it to. That makes me sad. I'm glad the #library has been bountiful. I have more potential reads next to my bed. #booksky #fairytale
I occasionally find a #book like this. Why are the pages cut this way? Error or intentional. I hate it. The book feels unfinished. #booksky
I enjoyed this one. Maybe not to the extent of the other 2.
DNF. I'm about a 1/4 of the way through #Scarred and have no great desire to finish it. I think I'm getting pickier. The MMC is an ? antihero. How do I say this without spoilers? The man has some issues. I can enjoy a possessive trope. But not this guy. His screws are all over the floor. #booksky
#TheThingsGodsBreak is the 2nd #book in the #Crucible series. I was excited when I received this book. I was excited when I finished it. It's going to be a long wait for the 3rd book.

"I have a plan." Can't wait.

This #book has all the elements I 😍 - strong female characters, paranormal/supernatural beings, magic. But as soon as a better book came along, I tossed this one. With only a 100 pages left. It has all the right pieces but not the energy. I was looking for something similar to #TrueBlood. #booksky
OMG OMG OMG. I just got an email saying my e-book of #TheThingsGodsBreak is available. I am so excited. I have so looked forward to the 2nd book of #TheCrucible trilogy. I just tossed the book I was reading. Please don't let this be as disappointing as the last book I looked forward to. #booksky
I picked up a 20 year old #paperback. I hate that, at that age, it was published in the 2000s. Not the late 1900s😀. I prefer #hardbacks & the #library provides. But there has been something nice about having that smaller #book in my hands. #allbooksmatter #booksky
Dear #Authors,

Give me #stand-alone books! Please. I don't even mind #trilogies & #duologies. But I have enough long running series that I feel like I have dedicated a serious amount of my life to. But I really want to sit down & read a story. One & done.

Sincerely, #Readers Everywhere

The book cover concerned me. Should have listened to my instincts. I am so very disappointed. 😞

DNF. I've read 5 books in the #BloodAndAsh series. Loved the characters. Enjoyed the story. Then this bull crap comes along. I struggled through the first 170 pages. Then it got interesting. For about 30 pages. That's when it went off the rails. That's the best I can do without spoilers. #booksky
I'm having a little trouble getting into #ThePrimalOfBloodAndBone. I'm giving it more effort than usual. Normally, I would have already declared DNF. Hoping it will grab me - soon. But really enjoyed the #potion I brewed. Blueberry tea with Italian Sweet Cream. Yum! But really weird color. #booksky
I knew it was coming. And I didn't expect it to happen like it did. I ordered #FatedThrone, #ZodiacAcademy 6 from the #library. They notified me it was in. I checked it out & dropped it in the return. I'm over it. Maybe too long between books. I figured it'd happen mid book. Guess not. #booksky
#Glint is an easy read. Fast paced. Girl found her backbone, maybe. This is #book 2 of #ThePlatedPrisonerSeries. Looking forward to book 3. Supposedly a retelling of #Midas. But only vaguely. Looks like I may be waiting a while for the #library. That's OK. My TBR runeth over. #booksky #RavenKennedy
#TheSecretOfSecrets is the 1st book in a while that I felt compelled to read. The topic can feel a bit text bookish at times, I guess it is needed for the reader to "get" it. And get it, I did. This book actually offered a new thought to a question I have struggled with for a long time. #booksky
Unfortunately, it is also a bit shiny. Maybe it's just my reading light. But I have been constantly adjusting the book due to glare. Since, obviously, I am reading a physical book, I love the feel of the paper as I touch it. May need to adjust my lighting. Though I have tried all 3 color settings.
I have occasionally noticed the #paper in my #books. Usually because it is rough, dirty or poorly cut. When I opened Secret of Secrets, the latest Robert Langdon novel, I noticed the paper immediately. It was soft & smooth to the touch. Luxury. #booksky
Unpopular opinon incoming. #Phantasma. I don't get the hype. This was a slow read for me. And if I had the chance to do it over again - I wouldn't. It was just interesting enough to keep me going, barely. The fact that it can be read as a stand-alone #book helped in that decision. #booksky
The last #BDB book was a train wreck IMHO. I thought I might be done with the series. But had to try #LoverForbidden, just in case. This one didn't start out real promising. Then it got better. Then it flopped around like a dead fish. And ended all mushy. Will I do another? Sadly, probably. #booksky
Have you ever had #socks match your #book? This was a funny coincidence this morning. #booksky
I seem to be in a spell of disappointment lately. But I keep opening the next one in hopes of finding an adventure.
Unfortunately, I have had a dry spell on the thrillers. I am really looking forward to Return of the Spider by Patterson. I have read all of the Alex Cross books.
