I do something similar when I start a game. I tell the players how long I expect it to be. Sometimes the answer surprises people. They reevaluate their priorities. And it goes both ways. Someone might not be interested because they assume it's a campaign, when you're just running a one-shot.🙂

GM Tip: I like to divide long campaigns into shorter "chapters" of 4 to 8 sessions. This allows me to alternate between different campaigns with each chapter, preventing burnout. And it allows me to check in with players regularly, adjusting the campaign as needed.

Gravity Circuit may be the best Mega Man game that I've ever played. I was mesmerized by the end. The art, music, stages, build options/flexibility: fantastic! And best of all, the platforming and movement are a RUSH! It's free on Epic Game Store, for the next day or so, so give it a go!

Seeing Cautionne's mood swings - especially after playing proto first - really sold how intimidating he can be. I love that we occasionally get to see behind the mask, too.

Call of Cthulhu is the first thing that comes to mind. You play ordinary people and it's reasonable to assume your characters won't get any powers.

There's a part where the game gets momentarily serene and tells you that you can just take your time enjoying this moment. And I took it up on that. Once I realized that my only choice was how long to delay the inevitable, something came over me. That bumped this game up a star for me.

My best guess is that the other two endings explain other aspects of the story. I'm not sure who Deirdre was expecting to come babysit Cautionne or why Cautionne kidnapped this character.

Even with the unanswered questions, this is a great game and I recommend checking it out.

I skipped the puzzle element. They look like some fun brain teasers, but even on easy mode, I just wanted to skip them. Which is why I love that the game also includes a skip button!

I got the "Breakout Role" ending, which ended on a downbeat. I felt like I was missing something.

I played this game after protoViolence. I wish I had played this first because it reflavors the experience of the other game. As for the game itself, I loved Cautionne's look. I wouldn't have guessed that this was the grown-up version of a same character from protoViolence,

I guessed how this story would go, and I was mostly right. There were sweet moments, and I liked them, but that also fueled my dread of the ending. That's why this story works for me. I highly recommend reading it.

I have a lot of players who struggle with roleplaying at my table, either because that's just how it is or because they're new to the hobby. I let them take things at their own pace, because it helps them feel comfortable at the table. 😊

It's fun! The protagonists start out as enemies, brought together by necessity, but build a natural bond over the course of the game. It was charming.

The plot takes a backseat to the action, while still effectively framing what's going on.

And the gameplay is great. It's a forgiving game! 😊

I play through my video game backlog from shortest to longest. If I don't have a game, I skip it until it goes on sale, then I buy it and come back to it. Because of that, it's rare that I buy a game within its first year of release. So it was a nice coincidence to play Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.
