The treaty applies to both legal entities and individuals. 💪✨
Once ratified, it will make trade and investment between our countries easier than ever — opening up major opportunities for Australian companies to take part in Ukraine’s rebuild and reconstruction, while also simplifying access for Ukrainian businesses entering the Australian market.
Breaking news! 🇺🇦🤝🇦🇺

Ukraine and Australia have just signed a tax treaty on the sidelines of the World Bank Annual Meeting in Washington!
The US, Australia, the EU, and Ukraine should prioritise expediting their cooperation to reduce the influence of autocracies.

Albanese scrambles to lock in minerals deal before Trump meeting
Australia is considering price floors for critical minerals and pumping money into new rare earth projects under a resources deal with the US.

To ensure a sustainable global supply chain of critical and rare earth minerals for defence, technology, and renewable industries, democratic countries should collaborate to establish their own sovereign mining and processing facilities.
It was a pleasure to meet with John van der Wielen, Chairman of Orthocell, to learn more about the product’s effectiveness in treating Ukraine’s wounded defenders. I also thanked John for the company’s charitable contribution in support of Ukrainians affected by Russia’s war.
Orthocell is an innovative Perth-based company that developed a groundbreaking collagen wrap used in peripheral nerve repair. Earlier this year, a batch of its products was utilised by British military surgeons treating wounded soldiers in Ukraine.
BP Australia and others should stop importing Russian blood petrol and diesel www.afr.com/policy/forei...
Just in time for your weekend walk in the park! 🎧 Tune in to my recent talk on Russia’s war in Ukraine, delivered at the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy and hosted by Professor John Phillimore at the Chambers Room, Curtin University.

According to the Lowy Institute’s annual survey, over 70% of Australians believe that their government should do more to support Ukraine. Yet, no material support has been provided in 2025. The stability and security of the region around Australia are now being shaped in Europe.
Supporting Ukraine’s defence and resilience remains one of the most effective ways to uphold international security and deter further aggression.
I urge the Government of Australia to condemn Russia’s continued violations of international humanitarian law and to maintain its military, economic, energy, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine together with Australia’s allies such as the U.S., UK, the EU and Japan.
Over 450 Russian drones and 30 missiles struck Ukraine’s critical infrastructure overnight, causing severe damage to power generation, electricity and gas distribution, and water systems. As a result, more than ten provinces, including Kyiv, are without access to water, electricity, and heating.
I welcome the Australian Government’s continued efforts to limit Russia’s ability to finance its war against Ukraine. The onus now lies with importers of Russian oil derivatives in Australia — they must be named and held accountable for failing to uphold basic ethical and ESG standards.
Buying petrol or diesel refined from Russian oil is not just an economic choice — it is a moral one. The blood of Ukrainian men, women, and children stains the fuel that ends up in the tanks of Australian cars.
It was an honour to speak about the emerging defence technologies from Ukraine at the Indo-Pacific Conference on Robotics, Autonomy, AI, and Cyber.
Ukraine has become a battlefield laboratory — one that costs us many lives to sustain. As we call on Australia to continue supporting for Ukraine, we also offer collaboration on the joint development of next-generation autonomous systems and countermeasures to meet the demands of modern warfare.
Extremely grateful to H.E. Chris Dawson, Governor of Western Australia, and his spouse, Darrilyn Dawson, for hosting us during our visit to Perth. There are significant opportunities for cooperation between Western Australia and Ukraine, particularly in the defence and mining sectors.
My deepest condolences go to his wife, young son, and the entire Ukrainian rugby league community. May he rest in peace. 💔
Mykola played for “Legion XIII” and the Ukrainian national rugby league team. When Russia launched its full-scale invasion, he joined the Defence Forces and served courageously on the frontlines. He will forever be 35.
As I congratulate the Brisbane Broncos on their stunning victory in the NRL Grand Final, I also mourn the loss of Ukrainian rugby league player Mykola Hetmanov. He was killed by Russian forces near Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region.
In a brazen overnight assault, Russia fired 500 drones and 50 missiles at targets across Ukraine — including power-generation facilities, an industrial park, and residential areas — causing numerous casualties. The international community must act to stop Russia.
