I missed this in Florida's prosecution of adult gaming sites last week: the sites were in compliance with the AV law.

Nutaku claims to be been below the 33% threshold for liability in Florida. Spicevids was age-verifying visitors.

The Attorney General's office sued them anyway.

Tomorrow, @bsky.app will begin requiring all users in Ohio to submit facial scans, government IDs or other identity info to access the site, in order to prevent prosecution under the state's age-verification law.

Meanwhile, X does nothing. Because it likely doesn't fear prosecution.

When Arizona's "porn" age-verification bill goes into effect next week, conservative parents will be able to sue websites offering transgender education, says the author of the bill.

"Fight it out in court."

Kupper, however, said there's a feature in his bill that doesn't exist elsewhere: Its provision giving the right to sue to parents and not to the government when a child accesses a site because there are no protections.
Consider, he said, what happens if a child accesses a site on transgender education that a parent does not consider to be appropriate and believes runs afoul of the new law.
"You get to take it to court," Kupper said. At that point it will be up to a judge to decide if what's on the site fits the definition of "harmful to minors" or is legally acceptable.
"We as the government are not making that call," he said.
