Back at Inverness for a HST down to Pitloch….Aviemore 🫠
Terminated at Aviemore due to a fault, but gave me a chance to walk around as I’ve never ventured beyond the Tesco before.
Back at the station saw a steam train on the Strathspey Railway and a southbound freight train.

After a short bus north from Inverness to Avoch we walked along an abandoned rail line to Fortrose, then on to Chaonry Point!
This line used to join the Far North Line at Muir of Ord, but as it’s quite a circuitous route you can see why it’s just a bus now.

Beautiful sunrise as we approached Inverness and we were immediately followed by 66759 “Chippy” (what a name!) having hauled the sleeper from Edinburgh! 🏴

222005 now part of Lumo West Coast on a training run from Stirling to Polmadie, certainly looks weird next to a 318! 😂

Changing units now to head back to Guildford on a semi fast via Woking. Was only going to go to Surbiton but once I heard how loud the motors are I had to stay on 😍😍🔥🔥

Lovely run down to Guildford, now back up to Waterloo diverting via Epsom due to signal problems. Fast from Effingham Junction to Wimbledon sounds like a lot of thrash but we followed a 701 the whole way 🤣

Bit of disruption today meant instead of going via Toton for some semi-rare track I had to change at Leicester for an 810 to still make my connection.
