We are a short play podcast wherein playwrights are challenged with sentence prompts & actors are challenged to perform with little preparation. Episodes drop on the occasional Friday.
A wise man (@austintichenor.bsky.social) once told us that it's good to be prepared and have 5 shows recorded & edited. With that in mind, we have a lot of work to do, & that means we need guests! Let us know if you are interested in appearing on the podcast as a guest actor &/or playwright.

Podcasters appearing as guests on podcasts? You bet! Tom McGrath, co-host of @lifesapitchpodcast.bsky.social, joined us a year ago for what turned out to be a very Halloween-themed episode accidentally. Hear here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/a...

Do you have a sentence in your head that might just inspire an entire (short) play? Drop it in the replies, maybe you'll hear your sentence used in a future episode!

Klingon introverts every day: "today is a good day to shy."
Klingon Ben Harrison watching a movie on an airplane: “Today is a good day to cry.”
Klingons on Black Friday: "Today is a good day to buy."

a lot of upset people seem shocked that Adam Driver didn't get to have a follow-up movie to "Rise of Skywalker". But my problem with the spec script is Star Wars has to stop bringing back dead characters. If he was a force ghost the whole movie that'd be okay, but let dead characters stay dead.

#ttrpg folks, when you support a kickstarter, what sort of rewards entice you the most? Are you always just after a physical copy? Or are there other benefits that call your name?

No new episodes of "All the Webs a Stage" or "Capes and Caverns" for the next few weeks, as host Steven is busy with theatre life. Both shows will resume soon, but both back catalogues are still available for your listening pleasure!

Just saw a tiktok post asking their audience who the next Star Trek captain should be, and now I want a World in which Ram Charan is a "main ship of the series" Star Trek captain. He would be so good.

We promise to continue writing, performing, & editing without the help of AI. Any plays you don't enjoy on our podcast? Good news, they were handmade by humans!

When host Steven first started writing short plays, his college roommate watched a lot of Red Green Show, and so as a result did Steven. There is no question that his humor is influenced by the show, so a thank you is in order to all those folks, including the amazing Graham Greene. Rest in peace.

It had not occurred to me, when I suggested the Charmin-based title to @lifesapitchpodcast.bsky.social, that you may be unfamiliar with a series of old commercials involving one Mr. Whipple & a deep concern for folks squeezing Charmin packages while in the store. youtu.be/L50tuag6iRs?...

No new episode this week, but I would suggest, in these trying, tiring times, that you listen/watch a show that you find comfort in, at least for a half hour. It won't fix the World, but you'll feel a bit better.

Our show is actively seeking actors & playwrights for future episodes. It's unpaid (because we don't make money either... yet!) but if you or someone you know wants a chance to perform and/or write short plays, reach out to us! We'd be delighted to have you.

When/if you binge a podcast that is new to you, do you start from the beginning? Or do you start from the most recent and work backwards through time?
