I'm just baffled we don't have cloud DVR or equivalents for streaming alternatives. I get the whole "oh, but it'll cause piracy" but YouTube TV has DVR of some kind, most American cable streamers have DVR, so what's our excuse?

Oh yeah, I 1000x agree. I know my post was meant to be a jokey-type thing to lighten the situation but I hate that we have to censor ourselves just so a merger with local affiliates can happen. "Oh, but we don't want to piss our glorious leader, now do we?"
