The owner of See Jamaica (live cameras 24/7 in several places on the island) has an important message! Share away! #Hurricane #Melissa #Jamaica
Hurricane #Melissa is still a threat! Going through today, things will start to improve in Eastern Cuba but go downhill in the Central/SE portions of the #Bahamas & the #TurksandCaicos!
Good Q! I imagine someone out there has rendered a 3D view. Try a google search?
The people of #Jamaica need our collective prayers right now! Hurricane #Melissa is gaining strength as it approaches the island! Now, the 6th lowest pressure for an Atlantic Hurricane (896mb) with 180mph winds! They will need the world’s aid after this! 🙏🏾
With the caveat that this is just one model run but all indications are the western portions of #Jamaica will experience the very worst of the winds from Hurricane #Mellissa! Stay with @weather.bsky.social for all the updates!
A scary sight to see, what is now, Category 5 Hurricane #Melissa revealed as the sun rises! Conditions expected to deteriorate in #Jamaica today into Tuesday. We’ll have the latest on the @weather.bsky.social!
The moisture from a couple of Tropical entities will flow into the Southwest the next few days. All of that deep tropical moisture could lead to flood issues! Stick with @weather.bsky.social for the very latest!
Looking more and more likely that this will be the setup heading into the wknd! Big high in Eastern Canada with a Coastal Low hanging around the US East Coast!

Once again, more coastal impacts are on the way! Tune to the @weather.bsky.social for what to expect!
Great news to hear from Bermuda on the impact from Hurricane #Imelda:
While visiting NOAA's Historical Hurricane website was greeted by this lovely message:
The sun rising on the visible satellite to reveal our two Tropical Cyclones #Imelda & #Humberto! Both moving away from the US but coastal water dangers remain. Bermuda watching closely for direct impacts!
The Tropic are alive! TS Humberto is expected to strengthen into a Hurricane but right now is forecast to stay away from US. Invest 94L has the best chance to make it to the US. Everyone from FL to the Carolinas should keep an eye on it. Stick with @weather.bsky.social for updates!
Fortunately, blessed to have won one this year!!! 😀
In honor of last night’s Emmy awards (congrats to all the winners), doing my best acting job to appear to be looking out over Lake Eola in FL! In reality, I’m staring at massive Green Wall!
Fun convo!!! ⬇️
What a great time talking with @jencarfagnoweather.bsky.social and @alexwallaceweather.bsky.social yesterday on @theweatherchannel.bsky.social about our book: Megalodons, Mermaids and Climate Change. Lots of laughs and the BIG ask! Yes, ask questions if you want to validate suspect information. 📚
Thx Weather Channel Jen and Alex for the fun teaser interview yesterday for the Weather Geeks podcast about our book: Megalodons, Mermaids and Climate Change: Answers to your ocean and atmosphere questions. Here's a condensed version with a few clips. 🧪📚#booksky

Happy Start of Pro Football Day!

Question of the Day — Your fav team is in the Championship & you’re in the stands. Would you rather sit through your worst nightmare weather if it meant your team wins OR enjoy perfect weather but watch your team lose.

Also, let us know who you’re rooting for!

Today, we talk to an entomologist about pests to look out for heading into the Fall!

Question of the Day — @kellycassweather.bsky.social & I know all bugs serve some purpose but hypothetically, if you could get rid of one bug forever, which would it be?

We’ll share on the @weather.bsky.social.

The Probability of Precipitation aka the chance of rain in Orlando for Monday & Tuesday is 70%!

@jencarfagnoweather.bsky.social & I want to know…what does that percentage chance of rain mean to you & how do you use it to plan your day? We’ll share your thoughts on the @weather.bsky.social!
Hurricane #Erin has definitely tried to get its act together! Dry air & shear were an obstacle yesterday (top pic). A little better organized today (bottom pic). We’ll see if we get an uptick in the wind speeds! Regardless, coastal dangers remain the same. #DontGetInWater
Hurricane #Erin has come down from its peak as a Category 5 storm with 160 mph winds! BUT it is large & getting larger! That means the chance for Tropical Storm force winds for parts of the Mid-Atlantic & New England Coast is higher! Stay with the @weather.bsky.social for the latest!
I always love checking out the Visible Satellite as the sun rises and illuminates hurricanes. Here’s this AM’s look at Hurricane #Erin. Stay updated on this & what else is lurking in the tropics on the @weather.bsky.social.
Still tracking #Erin which is a good reminder that we are approaching the heart of the hurricane season!

Question of the Day — @jencarfagnoweather.bsky.social & I want to know…What TWO items are essential for your prep kit (outside of the basics)? We’ll share on the @weather.bsky.social
Slight southward shift in the forecast path of Tropical Storm Erin in the 11am advisory from the National Hurricane Center. Don’t get married to this forecast. It could easily shift more in the coming days. Key message…keep checking @weather.bsky.social for updates!
Honored to be part of a team recognized by #TheEmmys! Never thought I’d hold one of these. This #NewsEmmys award is held by everyone at @weather.bsky.social who worked tirelessly during Hurricane Helene to keep people safe. We keep our thoughts with those impacted by Helene.
