So glad that Lázló #Krasznahorkai won the #Nobel Prize for Literature. I read his The Melancholy of Resistance during lockdown. It changed me. His work is enlightening.

Poem 71 is Ingeborg Bachmann's "Every Day." About to write my poem. Bachmann (1926-1973) was a phenomenal Austrian poet. Paul Celan was one of her brief and intense loves. We saw an exhibition on her life and her works at Goethe's House last August.

For our daily poetry challenge, I picked this poem by Irish poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa named "While Bleeding." Just wrote my #poem66.

Antonella is simply one of our best!

Today's poem for our daily challenge is Antonella #Anedda's "Tongue," translated from Sardinian by poet Jamie McKendrick. John and I stopped to say hi to Antonella before her class at Short Theatre, yesterday. I am very fond of her.

I just heard today that the Professor who introduced me to American poetry passed away. I am so thankful for all her work, for bringing Robert Creeley and John Ashbery to Rome. I must also thank her for my love for Uncle Whitman. Grazie di tutto, Annalisa.

Diane Seuss, from the Summer 2025 issue of Blackbird
I miss the tilt-

a-whirls of drunk and dragged
to bed, waking not knowing

where or who
the hell that is and how

to walk or be. It was
not free,

the carnival of mind
required tickets, scrolls

of them, snake-length,
the visionary spins and shooting

gallery where someone turned
the gun on me.
