As a humanities professor, I completely agree with this take. Students will occasionally say to me "I chose this class because I thought it would be easy"

I usually ask them, "why did you think that would be easy?"

I know the answer, but I think it's useful for them to feel comfortable answering
A grumpy old man yelling at clouds take — humanities classes should be hard, with lots of homework and rigorous grading.

We should show these courses are valuable by taking them more seriously.
