from 1929 during Prohibition - is it possible that all these cordials were really non-alcoholic? Fernet Branca was available in alcoholic medicinal form in the US, never heard of NA Chartreuse though, other brand-name vermouths etc too…

When I was like 12 I went to see The Sting in the movie theater by myself, assuming it was a disaster movie about a mass stinging event. It turned out to be a Robert Redford movie, but I didn’t know who that was so I kept waiting for the bees, I waited the whole movie for the bees.
