Principal Software Engineer/iOS Infrastructure @JustEatTakeaway. Ex-Intelligence agent. Wannabe Crusty.
A friend of mine who works at a big tech company said that they are educating their devs to use AI (VS Code, basic Copilot prompts) because they haven’t learnt the basics on their own.
Excuse me? What year is this?

Vibe coding: point your AI buddy at a problem and let it churn out thousands of lines of code.
That’s a recipe for disaster—like using autocomplete to write your entire next email.

I just paid 4,65€ for 75cl of water.
More than the double of a croissant.
A bocadillo now would cost 14,95€.

What the actual fu*k.

Barcelona airport FYI.

I’ve received a notification from Gemini (which never happens). I enter and I see a prompt that’s not mine. I then check my account for weird accesses: none.

Think Universal Links are a "set it and forget it" feature? Think again. 🛠️

Scaling deep linking infrastructure comes with a unique set of headaches that most teams aren't prepared for. I wrote about my experience navigating these hidden challenges.

Swift Effect is now in public preview! it is an architecture-agnostic effect system that makes side effects (such as I/O, networking, randomness, concurrency) controllable, composable, and testable without forcing structural changes to your application code.

I would like to say I made the same prediction over a pint.
Here's a prediction for 1/1/2027:

Software engineering won't change.

No, engineers won't be laid off en masse.
No, we won't see any measurable productivity wins from LLMs.
No, production or security code won't be written by LLMs.

The LLM bubble will start popping.
